After many months of production, the movie `You are my grandmother` by director Phan Gia Nhat Linh hit theaters on December 11.

You are my grandmother is 127 minutes long.

Miu Le (right) plays the role of a 70-year-old grandmother in the body of a 20-year-old young girl, while Meritorious Artist Minh Duc is the real grandmother.

The film is about Mrs. Dai (Performed by Meritorious Artist Minh Duc) – a widow.

From the persistent conflict, Mrs. Dai fell into the self-pity of an elderly person over 70 years old, realizing that her presence was an obstacle for her daughter-in-law.

Mrs. Dai (now played by Miu Le) is once again able to go back in time, doing things that her poor, hard-working youth could not do.

Miu Le both acts humorously and has profound interior scenes in the film.

The familiar `body exchange` and `returning old people` motifs placed into contemporary stories help the film be a way of rethinking the role and position of the elderly in the family and social community.

Phan Gia Nhat Linh’s film was successful thanks to the following factors: beautiful cast, uniform acting, beautiful scenes, good music.

The film brings together a cast of three generations.

Miu Le left her mark in the image of a `20-year-old grandmother`.

However, the details showing Miu Le’s grandmother’s personality create mixed feelings in viewers.

Poster for the movie `You are my grandmother`.

You are my grandmother is a Vietnamese version of the popular Korean movie Miss Granny (2014).

Director Phan Gia Nhat Linh took full advantage of standing on the shoulders of a `giant`, keeping all lines and plot details of the original version intact, thereby creating a film that, although not new, is still bold.

However, due to being too close and loyal to the original version of the script, Phan Gia Nhat Linh has not yet strongly included his own creations in terms of pieces.

The film is a co-production project between CJ Entertainment and HK Film.
