The proposal was raised by Deputy Minister Thuan in an online meeting with the provinces of Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc, Long An and Ba Ria – Vung Tau on epidemic prevention, on August 11.

`Localities need to have a reasonable testing strategy, harmoniously combining rapid antigen testing and PCR,` the Deputy Minister said.

The representative of Dong Nai province said that in the near future, the number of positive cases is expected to reach 2,000 cases/day, especially worker dormitories are at high risk.

Nearly 2,000 businesses in the province’s industrial zones/clusters are implementing `3 on-site`.

Among the above 6 provinces, Binh Duong is the locality with the highest number of cases.

The representative of Binh Duong province also said that in the coming time, the number of cases may increase more than currently, because the province conducts large-scale testing in the area.

The epidemic in Tay Ninh is still complicated, especially in Duong Minh Chau district and Tay Ninh city.

Long An has so far recorded more than 11,000 cases, with an average increase of about 500 cases/day in recent days;

The provinces of Ba Ria Vung Tau and Binh Phuoc also predict an increase in the number of cases.

Regarding treatment, the Deputy Minister requested the provinces to implement a stratification strategy according to instructions to appropriately use medical human resources.

Representatives of localities requested the Ministry of Health to support human resources.

Provinces proactively `4 on the spot` in epidemic prevention, especially accelerating the establishment of intensive care treatment centers and areas (ICU), proactively preparing for oxygen.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, Director of Medical Equipment and Construction, requested localities to review the ability to store, coordinate and transport oxygen to medical facilities in the area.

The Ministry of Health decided to provide 700,000 rapid tests to provinces and cities in the Southern region.
