Scorers: David Silva 1, Aguero pen 7, Mahrez 12, Bernardo Silva 15, 49 & 60, Otamendi 18, De Bruyne 85.

Man City is in a personnel crisis at the center back position, having to patch things up by pulling Fernandinho to partner with Otamendi – who is not in good form.

52 seconds after the opening whistle, when many spectators at Etihad Stadium had not yet settled into their seats, Man City opened the score.

Watford responded three minutes later with a missed goal by Deulofeu.

Man City still attacked aggressively and received a penalty in the sixth minute because Foster fouled Ryad Mahrez.

When Watford was still paralyzed by two goals lost, Man City increased the score to 3-0.

With five goals scored in 18 minutes, Man City set a new record in the Premier League for the shortest time to score five goals.

The 5-0 score turned the remainder of the first half into a walk for Man City.

Statistics at the end of the first half showed Man City’s superiority in all aspects, as they kept the ball 70% and finished 11 shots, of which six went in the direction of the goal.

The huge lead from the first half is the basis for Guardiola to confidently test reserve positions in defense – Man City’s weakest line at present.

However, these adjustments do not seem to affect the quality of the team’s play.

Bernardo Silva benefited from countless opportunities created by his teammates and scored a hat trick.

Between and after these three goals, Man City had countless other goalscoring opportunities, but failed to take advantage, including Mahrez’s header off the post.
