The German team is the most stable team in the qualifying round.

Since the 2010 World Cup, Germany has relied heavily on possession-based play.

Joachim Loew recently made small changes to the game plan, to limit the possibility of being caught.

Expected starting lineup (4-2-3-1 formation): Manuel Neuer;

Star player

Before the 2010 World Cup, Mesut Ozil was not well known.

Playing in a leading club in the world and in top tournaments like La Liga or Champions League, Ozil has the opportunity to develop his talent and make an important contribution to the German team.

Player worth waiting to see

Now is the right time for Bayern Munich’s talented young midfielder Toni Kroos to shine, even though he himself went through an unimpressive qualifying journey.

However, Borussia Dortmund’s 19-year-old star, Mario Gotze, is truly the one who brings inspiration to the German team.

Technical director of the German team Matthias Sammer once said Gotze was one of the best young players he had ever known.

Achievements in Euro 2012 qualifying

Germany is one of the few teams to win all 10 group stage matches.

Germany’s most impressive victory in the qualifying round was probably the big win over its main opponent in Group A, Türkiye with a score of 3-0.

Despite the passionate cheers of 75,000 spectators from Türkiye – the country with the largest number of immigrants to Germany, the home team still had a fierce attack and Miroslav Klose twice converted the advantage. That was a goal, while Mesut Ozil was the author of the other goal.

Joachim Loew was Jurgen Klinsmann’s assistant.

In 76 matches played under Loew, Germany won 52 matches (68%), drew 13 (17%) and lost 11 (15%).

Compared to the defeats in the Euro 2008 and World Cup 2010 finals, the German team is not only stronger, but their biggest rival – Spain – no longer seems to be the same as before.
