`I’m very happy to be in Hanoi again, preparing for the second leg of the final. We know the 2-2 first leg result means the Malaysian team has to climb a very high mountain. But once we set foot

Malaysia went to Hanoi to prepare for the second leg of the final in an unfavorable mood.

`The 2-2 result in the first leg is an advantage for the Vietnamese team, but we are still confident. My players are very excited and eagerly waiting for the match tomorrow. The Malaysian team will try to make the best of it.`

Coach Tan Cheng Hoe acknowledged the difficulties, but firmly believed in Malaysia’s ability to come back.

In the first leg four days ago, Malaysia quickly established a dominant position from the start, but conceded two goals from quick counterattacks from Vietnam.

`Tomorrow’s match will definitely be very difficult and will take place at high intensity. I have asked the students to stay focused, and be on high alert for Vietnam’s very dangerous counterattacks,` Mr. Tan said.

Unlike when playing the two semi-finals and the first leg of the final, tomorrow’s second leg of the final will be the first time in this year’s AFF Cup knock-out phase that Malaysia has the strongest force.

`Tomorrow Malaysia will be much stronger in defense, because all three of our defenders who were absent due to injury and penalty cards are back,` coach Tan Cheng Hoe was optimistic.

The Vietnam – Malaysia match takes place at 7:30 p.m., Saturday December 15.
